Health and wellbeing are necessary precursors, and positive byproducts, of equitable representation in the public sphere. One active area of focus for the Gender and Policy Initiative will be to consider how public policies can contribute to the enhanced health and wellbeing that is necessary for full participation in citizenship. Our biennial Workshop on Women’s Health in Global Perspective highlights issues of emerging and ongoing interest where women’s health and wellbeing are concerned, including reproductive and maternal health, gender-based violence, access to health care, and communicable and non-communicable diseases, among other topics. For Spring 2019 we plan a symposium on Family Leave as an active policy intervention that can contribute measurably to women’s, men’s, and families’ wellbeing.
